PINER HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION GRANT GUIDELINES

The Piner High School Foundation is dedicated to supporting the academic excellence of Piner High School.  The Foundation is currently soliciting applications from teachers for grants to fund the purchase of educational materials to enhance their student’s learning.  Successful grant applications will be funded up to $200.  Three teachers may apply together to pool the grant funding for a total of up to $600.  Our funds are limited so we may not be able to approve all the grant applications.

The Foundation is guided by the following principles:

Funding priority will be given to those proposals that benefit the academic life of the largest number of students possible.  But all teachers are encouraged to apply.

Foundation Guidelines for Bob Zeni Teacher Grant

  1. Only teachers may apply for grants.

  2. The Foundation’s focus is to place supplemental materials in the classroom to benefit as many students as possible. The item(s) generally should be sustainable / reusable items, e.g. books, dvd’s, beakers, tools, etc. Disposable items such as pens and pencils are not funded by the Foundation.  The Foundation encourages teachers to share materials and equipment with fellow teachers.

  3. If applying for reimbursement for materials you purchased this year, you must attach a receipt of purchase to your application.

  4. The Foundation does not fund teacher workshops or conference attendance.

  5. The Foundation does not fund field trips.

  6. If necessary, applicants may be requested to explain and clarify their application to the Foundation Board before approval of the grant request.

  7. Only the most economical form of shipping will be funded. Tax, shipping, and handling will be funded to a maximum of 20% of the grant.
  8. If your grant is approved the Foundation can order for you or if you prefer you may order the item(s).

  9. If you order yourself, you will be reimbursed when you turn in your receipt to the Foundation’s in-basket at the school’s front counter. Do not ask the school secretary or business office person to order for you, it complicates things.
